Electronics Recruitment Agencies

The British electronics industry is far-reaching with its operations being involved in many other industries. The expertise and end-products of this sector are incorporated into almost every modern sector, from the defence, and communications to the aerospace and automotive companies. It contributes over £80 billion to the UK economy while employing slightly under a million people. Of these, only about 250,000 are involved directly in electronics manufacture of products such as televisions, computers, and phones. However, this industry employs large numbers of electronic engineers and technicians.

Electronics recruitment agencies are always looking for applicants to fill the many vacancies in this fast-growing industry. In a recent ESCO report, over 85% of companies interviewed said they were increasing the number of products they manufactured in the UK. This means there is a need to hire more workers to supplement the workforce.

Requirements

The electronics industry is a very lucrative industry particularly for engineers who are involved in designing and developing electronic equipment. This translates to high academic requirements with most positions. Applicants are required to have at least a degree in electronic or electrical engineering for entry-level engineering jobs. To become a chartered engineer you have to be accredited by the Institute of Engineering and Technology or another professional body.

Technicians have to obtain an HND, NVQ level 3 qualification relevant to their line of work, or complete an apprenticeship to be considered for entry-level technical jobs.

In addition to the academic qualifications, electronics recruitment agencies also look for candidates who are personable, creative and demonstrate leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

These agencies work with a wide variety of key verticals in bluechip companies and small and medium enterprises. As a result, applicants have a wide choice of employment in whichever industry they prefer. In addition to engineers and technicians, electronics recruitment agencies are also involved in hiring of digital processing experts, wiring and assembly experts, and Life Sciences engineers.

Aside from the attractive remuneration packages, the electronics industry has many other benefits. Internationally acclaimed recognition for chartered engineers means they can work anywhere in the world. These qualifications are awarded by the Engineering council which adds to the earning potential of recognised engineers. IT is advisable that engineers follow up their qualifications with CPD activities such as volunteering, self-study and attending events to keep their knowledge and skills up to date.
